The best way to make DIY Pet Toys

Pet toys can make your cat or dog happier, mentally more engaged, and more fun to hang out with. It’s fine to buy toys, but it can add up, and sometimes your pet may not like the new toy. Creating your homemade pet toys from stuff already available at home is a way of saving your money and giving your pet a never-ending supply of fun things to play with. These DIY Pet toys are quick and easy to make.

DIY Dog toys:

  • 1. Design your tennis ball and rope

The tug is one of the most stressful physical & mental games there are. And if you don’t have a tug toy at home, the good news is that you can simply create your homemade pet toy with a rope and tennis ball. You’ll need a piece of rope and a tennis ball for this easy to make DIY dog toy.

Just cut or drill a hole at each side of the ball to make the toy; just wide enough to pass the rope through. Place the ball onto the rope center, tie a few knots to hold it in place.

  • 2. Creating DIY Plastic Dog Toy

Dogs just love crunchy things — and bottles made of plastic make some extremely enjoyable crunches. If your dog is a hard chewer, please remember to supervise them with this toy. To make your own DIY plastic bottle set, simply take a bottle of plastic and wrap it in a sock or fabric of your choice.

  • 3. Create a DIY Dog Toy T-Shirt

This toy is perfect for fetch or tug play, and it is very easy to make. What you need is a few t-shirts and a pair of scissors.

  • 4. Create your Feeder Toy

Food toys are a wonderful way to keep your dog’s mind busy, and a perfect way to keep your dog mentally entertained is to use one at dinner time.

DIY Cat toys:

  • 1. Make a DIY Cat tent

A nice place to relax after playing with your kitty. All you need is a t-shirt, two-wire hangers, and a carton.

  • 2. Toilet paper roll

Do not throw the tubes off your toilet paper rolls – save them as cat toys to repurpose! Use toilet paper rolls, a hot glue gun, and favorite treatments for your cat to create something like a treat puzzle.

  • 3. Use of Feathers

For a more elegant craft-try to make bells attached to these felt feathers. Even if your cat isn’t a fan, they’re good enough to be used as a decor item!

  • 4. Ramps

Set up ramps (from thick cardboard, scrap wood, or plastic tub lids) so that your cat can see a bird’s eye view of the house.
